FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Thursday, December 15, 2005 , After fourteen months of running monthly, TV's OUT Spoken goes weekly, now on four nights each week primetime on Comcast channel 11.

ComcastSF's OUT Spoken goes weekly in January 2006. Beginning Monday, January 9th, 2006 OUT Spoken, the talk show for the LGBT community will begin airing four nights each week prime time, giving audiences four chances to catch each original episode.

OUT Spoken launched in late 2004 and over the fourteen months have run stories about gay marriage, transgender issues, seniors and elders, Badlands; covered films such as Films such as Pursuit of Equality and "Do I Look Fat?"; and interviewed celebrity guests such as Reichen, the Scissor Sisters, Queer Eye for the Straight Gal, Humorist Kate Clinton, actor, Matthew Martin, Patti LaBelle, The Village People, Minnie Driver, Stephan Jenkins, Third Eye Blind, Alan Cumming, RuPaul, Assembleman Mark Leno, Ang Lee, director "Brokeback Mountain", Supervisor Devan Dufty, 92.7's Greg and Fernando, Deborah Cox, Amber, Lola, Heklina, Hal Sparks and Mary Wilson among many others.

In October, 2005 OUT Spoken host Tim Gaskin was put to the test when he took the first ever "live" and in "real-time" HIV test result -- on TV. He explains his reasons for televising the event and the benefits of the oral test.

"In my day-to-day conversations I've found that a lot of people weren't aware the test exists and if they were, they don't get that the test is noninvasive. I thought that if I show it on TV, in real time, that people would understand that there's no blood taken, and because you get results in 20 minutes, there's much less anxiety than in the normal process, where you have to wait two weeks for your results. So people will be more compelled to get tested."

Gaskin says that's the best you can do on TV, is not only to share information, but to show a viewing audience what it is that you are talking about. "That's what is exciting about television, visually telling a story, demonstrating a test like the Rapid Saliva Test or meeting the people in the arts, entertainment or politics that are making news or LGBT history."

Gaskin is looking to tell four times the amount of stories in 2006. "There is room now to do more, if anyone has a story idea or an event to promote, please be in touch."
