Mag Dimond has in the last year and a half inhabited the 1906 North Beach storefront with great sensitivity, filling it with modern art, textiles, Buddhist art, her wise Golden Retriever, and most especially, her eclectic beaded necklaces. These one of a kind creations are fashioned with everything

The gallery has often been compared to a museum, with its emphasis on authentic ancient beads and artifacts, but it is also like a grand salon decorated with oriental rugs, Guatemalan masks and textiles, paintings, Buddhist sculpture, and antique French mannequins.

The Magpie Gallery is truly an artist’s space, where Mag creates her unique pieces from rare beads, where she also gives workshops regularly, and offers small-scale exhibitions of local artists.

Mag’s necklaces are collectors’ pieces, the perfect gift for the person (even if it is yourself!) who loves beauty, and who is drawn to the great unfolding of human history.
