ARCHITECTS II was founded in January of 1989 by James G. Maxwell, and has been a Woman Owned Business Enterprise since 1991 when Cindy M. Beckman joined the firm as controlling Principal Partner.  During the past ten years, the firm has won awards and commissions based on the quality of service and exceptional design delivered on each and every project.  This has been accomplished on a range of projects including commercial, hospitality, restaurant, ecclesiastic, educational and residential.  The firm offers specialized services for restaurant design, custom residential, and interior design.

Design Capabilities

Full Architectural Services are available - from Pre-design, Programming and Site Evaluation through Project Close-out, including post construction evaluation and services.  ARCHITECTS II also provides Interior Design Services from preliminary diagrams for Furniture and Kitchen Equipment Layout to procurement and installation of Furniture Fixtures & Equipment.  Other specialty services available include consultation and coordination of graphic design packages;  art selection, procurement, and installation;  and specialty furniture and fixture design.

The firm is dedicated to providing the highest level of service by working closely with each Client to fully realize their project.  As a small firm, ARCHITECTS II Principals are involved in every facet of design, from initial programming and concept design through production and administration of the construction contract.  This total involvement in the project insures that the Client will not only receive the highest quality design, but also a built project consistent with the Client’s design intent and needs.  Professional integrity is evidenced by many repeat Clients - strong proof that ARCHITECTS II delivers on the Client's demands.

Design Approach

ARCHITECTS II has always enjoyed a close working relationship with the Client in determining materials and details appropriate to the project.  These decisions are based on the Client's desired design direction and budget - and on the durability and life cycle costs of the chosen materials.  Past projects have allowed for experimentation in common materials used in unique details, which have proven to be cost effective for both initial build-out and the life cycle of the projects.  These experiences, together with a working knowledge of both contemporary and traditional materials and details, presents a wide range of options to the Client.
