Nicole Apostoli, owner and designer of Presh, was born in San Francisco, California, and has been making jewelry for as long as she can remember. Nicole started out making jewelry for herself and for friends until local boutique owners became interested in her work. She sold her one of a kind creations as she studied design at the California College of Arts and Crafts in San Francisco, where she received her BFA in jewelry and metal arts.
As a young girl, Nicole was obsessed with her grandmothers jewelry box, not just because of the beauty of the pieces inside, but also because of the fact that the pieces had the ability to trigger memories that may have otherwise been forgotten. It is this attachment to sentiment and memory along with her love for jewelry, fashion, and textiles that has inspired Nicole to develop her latest collection, Presh.
The hand crafted line, made just north of San Francisco in Sausalito, California, currently includes antique embroidered fabric and vintage textiles set under hand shaped glass, framed in sterling silver and accented with semi-precious stones. Among the favorites are pendants that dangle from sterling silver chain or leather cord that feature sections of a crazy quilt from the late 1800’s, one of a kind vintage postcards, stamps, photographs, wood and embossed leather.
Aside from jewelry, Presh has also worked on one of a kind custom ordered body pieces for performers, fashion shows, music videos and weddings in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
