My love of jewelry making began in high school with a beginning silver smith course. In later years, I moved to East Africa to begin a career as a safari operator and guide. The beauty of ancient trade beads and abundance of gemstones mined there inspired me to return to the craft, and in the ten years I lived there I collected many unique pieces to create what I call “Neo-Ethnic” jewelry. These pieces were sold widely around Tanzania in gift shops and galleries.
Today, my home is in Placitas, New Mexico, and my pieces are a mixture of contemporary and traditional elements; precious and semi-precious gemstones, with antique and newly formed
high karat gold components. Because of the uniqueness of materials, all pieces are one-of-a-kind. In some instances, however, similar works can be created, and custom orders are welcome.Exhibitions
