The simplicity of pure geometric forms, visual rhythms and two or more parts working together as one, were concepts motivating Kathleen as a sculpture student at SUNY New Paltz. Now working on a much smaller scale, they continue to influence her as a jewelry designer. After 6 years of assisting other jewelry designers, Kathleen knew it was time to go out on her own. Since March of 1997, she has been designing and creating her line of jewelry as K, DiResta Designs, Inc. kathleen handcrafts each unique, geometric piece of jewelry. her palate includes exceptional combinations of sterling silver, eighteen-karat gold, faceted gems and pearls. Unusual connections and elements that move allow the wearer to interact with the piece. Variations of bold interlocking rings and playful pendants have been proven best sellers. From 1999 to 2003, Kathleen worked out of her east village gallery space, DiResta Gallery. The gallery space featured jewelry and photography by Kathleen and furniture by her brother jimmy. currently, her studio is in Sea Cliff, New York and her designs sell nationally through galleries, boutiques and high end craft shows. This rare mixture of artistic talent, magnificent craftsman ship and enthusiasm makes a visit to kathleen a must. It is jewelry that needs to be experienced. She invites people who enjoy wearing everyday jewelry to play, invites people who enjoy wearing everyday jewelry to play, smile and keep a light heart.
