Born and raised in a remote area of Northern California, Coral Silverman is the daughter of two jewelers. She started making jewelry at an early age. She takes her inspiration from native peoples' creative and ingenuous transformation of humble natural materials into beautiful objects of adornment. She prefers to work with polished, unfaceted stones, and will often incorporate unusual materials into her work, such as a Chinese kingfisher feather bead, or a large branch of coral. She hand makes each piece in her collection using sterling silver, hand-picked semi-precious stone beads, leather, and suede.
