The desire to create three-dimensional objects led me to explore a variety of artistic mediums including sculpture, ceramics and metalsmithing. Through this exploration I discovered that jewelry metalsmithing is the medium in which I feel most able to create the objects I envision. The jewelry designs stem from an interest in combining natural organic forms and geometric shapes. Surface texture is also of great interest to me. I attempt to develop new and intriguing patterns and textures to enhance and embellish the basic forms. It is my hope that through these combinations I can create jewelry that is interesting as well as innovative.
